Spring 2012 Rec Sports Group Fitness Offerings

By Mike Cosgrove –  In addition to the great employee-only group fitness classes offered through the Wellness Committee, both the Rec Center and Rec Plex have a variety of classes at numerous times.

In addition to a number of spinning classes, the Rec Center offers Zumba, which is a Latin-inspired, dance fitness class, Hip-Hop Fitness, Turbokick, Kickboxing, Ab-Blast and a yoga and Pilates fusion class called Yogalates.

The Rec Plex has Zumba, Cardio Kickboxing, Total Body Conditioning, Cardio Dance, Kickboxing, Yoga, and a great lunchtime class called Hot Lunch which utilizes all types of cardio and strengthening exercises.

On Fridays at 1 and 4 pm, both the Rec Center and Rec Plex offer a series of free group fitness classes called ‘Free Fridays’.  The schedule varies every week, and it is a great opportunity to get your feet wet in the group fitness world without committing to a whole semester of classes.
